Okay, has anybody seen this before? I honestly don't know what I'm looking at.

I was just playing survival in my world. Nothing unusual, just getting wood before it got dark. Then everything started turning grey. At first I thought it was the fog, but the grass, the sky, even the things in my inventory started losing their colour.

After a minute or so everything was completely grey. The sound stopped too. I kept walking and then the game froze for a few seconds.

When it came back, I was here.

It's just trees. All the same height, with leaves right above my head. I walked for what felt like ten minutes and couldn't find the edge. No hills, no animals, nothing. Then I noticed that thing between the trunks.

I don't even know what that black figure is. It wasn't moving. I took this screenshot and quit.

I'm on Beta 1.7_01. Singleplayer, no mods or texture packs. Is my save corrupted or something?

one more block before bed.

Probably a texture bug. Try changing your render distance and restarting the game.

The trees are weird though. Did you generate this world in an older version?

If it isn't made of cobblestone, it isn't finished.

A texture bug doesn't explain the terrain. Look at the ground. It's completely flat and every tree has the same gap between them.

The world was made last week. Changing the fog distance didn't do anything.

I loaded it again. I'm still in the forest. My coordinates keep changing but I keep passing the same trees. I can't find my house.

The figure isn't where it was in the screenshot anymore.

nice, wasn't planning on sleeping anyway :/

Can you upload the save? I want to see if it does the same thing on another computer.

Back up the folder before you do anything else. If this is chunk corruption you might still be able to recover the original world.

Are you sure the sound stopped completely? No footsteps either?
